I found my passion for fitness in late 2013 and as of mid 2016 I have turned my passion into my career! Finding fitness changed my life in ways I never imagined it would and I hope that I can help as many women as possible to experience the same benefits. I graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design then moved back to my hometown, Jefferson City, MO. With limited interior design jobs in the area, I took a job dispatching linemen to electrical outages (on nightshift!) and did that for the 4 years between graduation and pursuing my dream of becoming a Personal Trainer.
When I'm not doing all things fitness you can find me at dinner and the movies with my husband Corey, playing with our adorable dogs Rocky, Buddy and Cooper, watching crime documentaries or working on personal development. I work every single day to be the best human I can, inside and out.
My Training Philosophy
I am a huge believer that exercising should be enjoyable.
Sure, we all have days that we don't want to work out, but every day shouldn't be that way! Training shouldn't be a chore. I believe that if you are doing a training program that you enjoy, you will perform better resulting in increased confidence and results.
I personalize client's programs with exercises they enjoy and with acute variables (sets, repetitions, training tempo, etc.) scientifically and systematically designed to reach their goals. It comes down to a "train smarter not harder" philosophy. A progressively designed program is the only way to see continued results without plateauing. This is why personalization and periodization are SO important when it comes to programming.
There are a ton of 8-12 week buy it now "cookie cutter" programs available online that if followed, yes you will see results during that time. However, what happens after you have completed the program and your body has adapted to that training so your progress stalls? The majority of people who complete one of these aggressive training programs gain back all of the weight they lost or more after they complete the program and return to a more regular exercise and diet routine.
Our bodies are incredibly adaptive and require continued increased stress to be placed upon them to see progress. Having a coach with the knowledge to know when and how to manipulate these variables and design a program for you that won't force you to do ridiculous amounts of cardio or eat a very low calorie diet can break the yo-yo cycle of dieting and exercise resulting in fat loss and gain, binging and restricting, etc. that so many are burdened by for years. This leads not only to sustainable physical progress but a change in mentality towards food and exercise that is life changing.
I personally struggled with the yo-yo cycle mentioned above and made so many mistakes when I started my journey because I didn't have the knowledge and experience that I do now. I know how destructive this cycle is which is why I am so passionate about helping other women reach their mental and physical goals. You deserve to have a healthy relationship with food, to reach your physical goals, to be confident and to love yourself.
